Aromatherapy for the Holidays
The holidays are upon us, and it's a wonderful time to fill your home with aroma and fragrance.
Infuse light, warmth and scent into every room in your home. Scented Candles have a way of boosting your spirits and helping to dissipate the troubles of the day. Choose from a wide variety of unique fragrances or try fragrance combinations—these everyday candles are easy to mix and match and make a thoughtful gift idea.
Essential Oils are another way to get into the holiday spirit with aromatherapy. The smell of pine and cinnamon will transport you back to Christmas past. If you have an artificial tree, why not scent your home with pine or fir needle oil for that “authentic” smell? You could even make custom aromatherapy blends for scenting your home or office. Juniper berry, fir needle, and pine make a lovely “wintry” combination. Frankincense and Myrrh have a warm, rich, spicey aroma. You can even place a few drops on greeting cards or tissue paper. And if the stress of the holidays starts to get to you, rub a drop of lavender oil on your temples or add some to your bathwater.
There are several methods of using essential oils. Sprinkle some into potpourri that’s lost its scent, or onto an artificial tree to make it smell real. The best way to get the most out of the scent is with a diffuser. Diffusers range from the low-tech, such as soapstone tea light burners and ceramic tea light burners; to the high-tech plug in diffusers such as the SpaScenter or the Tranquility Nebulizing Diffuser. Diffusing the oils in warm water is another amazingly effective way to fill a room with the aromatic vapors.
