Description for: Eagle River by Dean Evenson
Every year in mid-winter, Dean Evenson travels to a nearby river to view the annual ritual of eagles feasting on spawning salmon. After hatching, salmon fry swim downstream to the sea; when the time comes to give birth to hatchlings of their own, they return to riverbed, where the older salmon provide food for the eagles. Fascinated by this cycle of life, Evenson composed this album of gentle melodies that pays homage to the wondrous fabric of nature. The music is mellow with subtle Native American hues. Evenson plays his trademark flute (both Native American and silver flute in this context) alongside Scott Huckabay on guitar, d'Rachael and Dudley Evenson on harp, viola from Phil Heaven and the work of several others. Acoustic, stirring and peppered with nature sounds, EAGLE RIVER will ease you mind and make your feel one with the natural world.
