Home > How Can I Use Essential Oils?

There are many ways to use a Best of Nature Essential Oil! Try some of our suggestions below:

    AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE

You can add the essential to an unscented base, such as a massage oil. Add a few drops of essential oil per ounce of oil - start mixing in small amounts; you can always add more! There's nothing like Aromatherapy Massage to revitalize the body and mind. Our Pure Oil Sampler Pack is a good way to start.

    FRAGRANCE A ROOM

An Essential Oil can be added to any number of aromatherapy diffusers to naturally scent the air. For easy diffusion of your Aroma Blends, browse our range of diffusers.

    SCENTED BATH

For a soothing soak, add 5 to 10 drops of Essential Oil to a bath tub full of water. Swirl the water to spread the oil throughout the tub. Hop in, lean back and relax, while you inhale the soothing vapors! Soak for as long as you like. For added muscle relief, try adding some bath salt. There are many to choose from - browse our Salt selection for ideas.

A FEW DROPS ON A HANDKERCHIEF

It sounds so simple, but you can place a few drops of Essential Oil on a tissue and then waft it past your nose when you feel the need for some aromatherapy - take it anywhere! Likewise you can place a drop on your bed pillow to encourage sleep and sweet dreams.

    HUMIDIFIER OR VAPORIZER

Add a few drops to your humidifier or vaporizer to naturally fragrance the air.

    SKIN CARE RECIPES

Add small amounts to fragrance your own recipes for skin care lotions and creams.

Basic Essential Oil Safety Guidelines

When using Essential Oils it is very important to adhere to the recommended dosage to achieve the desired effect. Using too much can result in negative results - for instance, skin damage, headache or nausea. Essential Oils should never be put directly on the skin; instead they should be diluted in a vegetable carrier oil such as Sweet Almond Oil or Grapeseed Oil. Essential Oils should never be ingested. Most Essential Oils should be avoiding during pregnancy - seek more information in an aromatherapy book by looking up each oil for precautions.
